-China Fleet Country Club-

May 16, 2017

Over the weekend me and Graham stayed at China Fleet Golf and Country Club, living the life of luxury, and yes it was as posh as it sounds. We love spending weekends exploring and travelling to new places and China Fleet defiantly didn't disappoint.
Its an amazing place set in beautiful grounds just outside of Saltash where you could use all their facility as much as you wanted for free whilst we stayed there and we defiantly took advantage of this.

Its set right on the banks of the river Tamar and has a nature walk that leads down to the river itself, which has lovely views from any direction you turn.

We stayed in a lovely apartment in an village type area within the grounds, which had a kitchen/lounge area, a bedroom and a bathroom all very nicely layout with plenty of room.
The apartment meant that you could either cook all of your food whist you where there or you could eat out, it was completely up to you. We ate out for both of the evenings we where there but had breakfast and lunches in our apartment.

The first night we where there we booked to eat in their Upper deck bistro a posh restaurant that only served a set 1, 2 or 3 course meal and by golly the food was lovely. We both decided to go for 2 course, and we both ordered the west country crab cakes as our starter. I'm not normally a massive fan of sea food, however decided that I would try something new and i'm so glad I did. It was a very good portion size for a starter and it came very quickly. The crab cakes where absolutely divine and they where served with a pesto potato salad and warm avocado which brought the dish together beautifully. For my main I ordered the chicken supreme, which was spinach and ricotta tortellini in a scrummy tomato sauce served with chicken and green beans, which again was cooked brilliantly and tasted really good. I would highly recommend eating here, although a little bit on the pricey side its actually good value for money and the food definitely reflects the price you pay.

The other amazing thing about China Fleet is their facility's, which we used throughout our stay. Firstly the gym, it was really well equipped, with not only cardio and weight machines but they had great selection of free weight equipment too, which meant we could both train over the weekend, like normal.

Next, the pool. Not the deepest pool in the world, at the deepest point I could still stand and i'm not exactly the tallest person ever. However it was very clean and was lovely and warm and was a good size to have a swim.

And I saved the best till last, the aqua spa! We spent quite a lot of our time in the aqua spa and on Sunday we went straight after a session in the gym which was lovey for our muscles. It has 9 different stations which all had different health benefits and where all very relaxing. It has 3 different types of saunas/steam rooms, a Jacuzzi, a laconium, foot spa's, a ice chute, experience showers and tepidarium loungers. It was laid out in a way that naturally led you to follow an order, which left you leaving feeling deeply relaxed and tranquil by the end. The only slightly Debbie downer thing I have to say about the spa is that it not a large area and at times when it gets busy and all of the areas are being used there isn't a space for you just to sit, wait and relax. However, at times such as early morning when its very much empty it gives you the freedom to use all of the stations in what ever order you want, which was lovely.

I would definitely recommend checking them out and booking to staying here. It isn't very expensive per night and is done per apartment and not per person staying, which means you can share with up to 4 people in each apartment and split the cost and you can use all of their facility's for free whist your staying there.
