-Summer Adventures-
August 05, 2017
After the beautiful weather we having been having recently, It just so happened the day Graham and I had planned for our adventures turned out really over cast with spots of rain. However we made the most of it and had a lovely day.
We drove just to the outskirts of Topsham to Darts Farm, a large, local, organic farm shop with a onsite café. We both had a lovely lunch there, filling our stomachs, we often eat out there because the food is amazing, they have a great variety and the price is really reasonable, I would highly recommend!!!!
Because its the summer holidays they have lots of activity's on at Darts Farm and the two that we really wanted to do was the maize maze and sunflower picking, that where both for charity. From the front tills you collect the maize map and pay a £1 donation per person to the Air ambulance trust, you can also collect a pair of secateurs to cut the sunflowers and pay a donation to Hospice Care.
After walking a short distance to the start of the maze we set off in search of letters spread around the maze that you needed to collect and unscramble for a prize. As childish as it sounds it was actually a lot of fun for us adults too, running around a maze laughing and getting lost what more could you want!!!
After collecting all the letter and unscrambling them (I won't ruin the surprise and tell you what the letters spell, I'll let you have the fun of running around the maze for your self!!) we eventually found our way out of the maize maze, and headed to the sunflower field. Here you can pick your own bunch of sunflowers, which I thought was such an lovely idea and a bonus that it's for charity.
We spent a long time picking out the best looking sunflowers and I sent Graham into dense areas to pick the good ones, I'm not sure he was very impressed about this, but it was TOTALLY worth it and we came away with a beautiful bunch of sunflowers for Graham's mum.
I couldn't recommend Darts Farm enough and the activities they have on at the moment would be a great place to go over the summer holidays with the kids (or without, it was great fun for adults too!!).
I hope you all have a lovely week and speak soon x
